Foundations of Embroidery

Cost: $300.00

Thinking about your stitching journey and where you might like it to lead you? Have you considered partaking of some classes to improve and deepen your understanding of embroidery and some of the possibilities available?

Participating in the Foundations classes can offer you some building blocks with which to take your understanding and techniques further along that journey.

The Embroiderers Guild is very excited to offer in 2024 the newly formatted Foundations Introduction to Embroidery classes.

Classes will be held at Curnow Knuckey in Kingsley over 10 lessons, taking place on a series of Sundays 9.30 -12.30 with the teachers Molly Clark and Rita Petters.

This presents a terrific investment in your art/pastime as well as providing an option to complete a file of techniques and samples for reference and future growth.

The classes will run fortnightly on two Sunday mornings a month from 9.30am to 12.30pm at Curnow Knuckey. Masonic Village, Kingsley, starting in February 2024.

Foundations of Embroidery topics include:

General History of Embroidery

Choices of fabric, their availability and type

Needle selection for best results

Thread choices, types and application

Stitches and their combinations

Folio Construction and presentation.

(Folio only required for students wishing to present their work for assessment as part of the certificate course).

* This module is the basic core unit for the Guild's Personal Development Program.
