Start Stitching for Beginners - Hapsburg Lace embroidery
Start Stitching - Beginners Hapsburg Lace Embroidery
This workshop will be conducted on two Saturday afternoons in June and July 2023
This style of counted embroidery will be stitched on Aida fabric. We will make a Scissor fob and a biscornu style pin cushion.
Hapsburg lace embroidery is a type of ornate needlework that originated in the 16th century and became popular in Austria, particularly in the Hapsburg court. This delicate embroidery technique involves the use of fine threads, often made of silk, to create intricate designs on fine fabric, such as linen or cotton.
This beginner's workshop demonstrates the use of simple stitches to create beautiful patterns that can be manipulated to produce many unique designs.
We invite you to join us for this fun workshop to make these practical items.
