In this block of the month series we will explore a variety of stiches commonly used in 17th century embroidery. Each lesson will build on skills learnt in previous lessons and is designed for all levels of embroiderers.
While the project takes the form of a 17th century band sampler, we will discuss the uses of these stitches in other formats.
I can provide a kit with 32 count linen and silk threads. Students experienced with metallic passing threads may wish to substitute this in the appropriate areas.
Those wishing to alter the thread count of fabric please let me know.
