“Western Jewel” – 2 day workshop

My purpose for this workshop was to design a piece that was uniquely Australian.
The panel features a Numbat surrounded by Australian landscape and wildflowers. This workshop is aimed at teaching you the complexities of stitching animals and learning to shape them, so they look three-dimensional and life-like.
The embroidery is stitched in Gumnut Yarn “stars” silk threads on 55 count Kingston linen.
If desired, participants can purchase the other animal kits from Maree on the day. Please indicate on the enrolment form, the kit you would like to purchase.
Kit Cost: $85.00 -
Kit contains pattern with detailed instructions for the project,
Colour photo,
55 count Kingston linen printed and prepared with backing,
Gumnut “stars” threads and
Beads required to work project.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
4 inch hoop (Numbat needs to be worked in a small hoop then piece can be moved to a larger 6 inch hoop or frame after he is worked) - 7 inch and 10 inch Edmunds Stretcher Bars for frame and tacks or frame similar to suit fabric 8 inch x 11 inch (you will not need frame for class)
9 & 10 Crewel or embroidery needles, 28 Tapestry (you will be supplied with one of each for the class)
Scissors
Ecru machine cotton & sticky tape for tacking panel
Small ruler
Magnification or light as the work is fine.
