GOLD KNOT GARDEN
We are so pleased to present a series of workshops featuring Tania's beautiful designs. We are proud to say that Tania is a member of our guild and is well known nationally for her beautiful embroidery designs. Some of these designs have been featured in the Australian Inspirations magazine, which has a worldwide readership.
This is the first in a series of three designs inspired by the beautiful English Knot Garden. Tania's triptych consists of a Gold, a Silver and a Copper Knot Garden.
It is planned to complete the series next year as a Block of the Month workshop, on the 3rd Sunday afternoon of each month, from March to October 2025. Each piece can be displayed individually, but the three pieces have been designed to be presented as a tryptic.
The Gold Knot Garden, the first in the series, features pretty pearl centred daisies in shades of pink, surrounding a lovely mounded centre of gold and pearl. Adorning each corner, the flowers are surrounded by buds and tendrils of green and gold. A scattering of sparkling beads and spangles, and padded gold leather triangles further embellish this luxurious little piece of goldwork.
You will be learning goldwork techniques such chipping, laying cord, beading, leather work and wire work.
Using lovely silk thread, beautiful gold wires, cords and threads, you will create this lovely little Gold Knot Garden measuring just 9 x 9cm.
The cost for the kit is $140, and will include all the fabric, silk and other threads, felt, leather, beads and all goldwork supplies needed to complete this project.
Suitable for intermediate and up (or anyone keen enough to start learning goldwork)
