“Elizabethan Animal Quartet" – 2 day workshop
Cost: Member $140.00
Non-Member $280.00
Two Day class
Skill Level – Intermediate -Students should have experience in detached buttonhole stitch.
Workshop Description
The inspiration for this workshop has come from my love embroideries of animals and plants of the Elizabethan period.
The four panels depicting a Camel, Deer, Squirrel and Hare can be mounted as a picture or used to cover the sides of a small box that could fit into the casket. The Lion panel could be used as the top of the box.
The embroideries are stitched in gumnut yarn “stars” silk threads on 55 count Kingston linen.
This workshop is aimed at teaching the complexities of stitching animals and learning to shape them so they look three dimensional and life like using detached buttonhole stitch.
This project can be framed or used on the lid of small boxes. Students doing the casket could use the animals as part of their casket.
If desired, participants can purchase the other animal kits from Maree on the day. Please indicate on the enrolment form, the kit you would like to purchase.
