Start Stitching for Beginners - Pink Gum Blossom
Start Stitching - Beginners Crewel Work
This workshop will be conducted over two Sunday afternoons in August and September 2024
Crewel work or Surface embroidery has a long history. Originally these designs were stitched with wool on a heavy Linen fabric The technique has been modernised with the use of finer fabrics and all types of threads and colours, including silk to a finer wool ply, depending on the item to be made.
Our Crewel work piece has been designed and worked by Tania Cohen a member of the Guild here. Tania is an internationally recognised embroiderer, and we are proud that she considers our Guild, her home.
Your finished work of art could be framed or used to embellish a bag, or book cover.
