We are delighted that Di Kirchner from Adelaide has agreed to teach two workshops in 2025 for our Guild. She recently completed a very intensive Hand Embroidery Diploma Course through The Royal School of Needlework in London and was invited to take part in stitching some of the beautiful items seen at the Coronation of King Charles.
She writes:
My love of embroidery grew when I was working for over 20 years with Country Bumpkin, where I had the opportunity to explore, design and teach needlework. To further my knowledge and skills I completed a Diploma in Technical Hand Embroidery at the Royal School of Needlework this year. I have a particular interest in traditional embroidery and the stitches used. With this in mind, I do like to design projects with these stitches but add a modern twist. My main aim is to continue to encourage more people to try embroidery, through my teaching and sharing of the wonderful benefits it can offer.
