Join us in a small group to learn how to stitch beautiful pieces that you will be proud to show to your friends. This beginner project is designed to give you a small taste of the different ways that can applied to fabric, using a needle and thread to produce a piece of art that can be attached to a book cover or just used as a sample to demonstrate what can be achieved.
We will meet at the Embroiderers Guild Headquarters where you can see other types of embroidery displayed and browse through our very large collection of books and magazines.
Embroidery is a relaxing pastime and spending an hour or two enjoying the process has been shown to reduce some of the stresses of modern life!
We will teach you some easy stitches which will include:
Stem Stitch, Seeding stitch, Long and Short Shading, Fly Stitch, Satin Stitch and Turkey Knot stitch as well as the application of beads.
You can leave your finished embroidery in the hoop or place into a small picture frame, or use it to decorate a book cover or bag.
Come and join in the fun and create a piece of embroidery to be proud of!
