Complete beginners are very welcome to join us for this Start Stitching class in September and October.
There will be two separate classes conducted on Sunday afternoons, 14th September and the 12th October at Guild House, 565 Canning Highway, Alfred Cove.
Classes are spaced to allow time to complete what is learnt in the first class, with the second session concentrating on finishing and assembling the embroidered piece.
"Valentina"
an Art Nouveau inspired design
Flowing curvilinear lines with stylised leaves, stems and flower petals. This project introduces a range of embroidery stitches - Stem stitch, Back stitch, Closed stacked Fly stitch, Satin and Seed stitch.
This lovely embroidery is embellished with a finishing touch of beads and metallic thread.
A two-part workshop, Sunday 14th September and Sunday 12th October at 1.30pm, taking the time to develop your stitch knowledge.
The final piece can be mounted as a picture or hoop art, attached to a cushion or bag or maybe used as a book cover to decorate that special journal.
It could be framed and placed on a wall to enjoy the peace and tranquility of these flowing lines and gentle colour palette.
All the materials that you will need to stitch and complete the project are included in a sturdy kit box. This includes:
- Fabric, thread and needles,
- Small sharp scissors
- Quality Embroidery Hoop,
- Full Instructions and photo.
Only bring your 'specs' if you need them!
Numbers in these classes are kept small, and we have experienced embroiderers there to help you when needed.
Come and join in the fun, bring a friend, learn something new and complete a pretty item to keep and enjoy.
