Annual General Meeting - Saturday, October 5

An invitation is extended to all members to attend the Annual General Meeting of the Embroiderers' Guild of WA, to be held on Saturday 5 October at 1pm, at Guild House - 565 Canning Highway Alfred Cove.

Come and join other members of the Guild for our Annual General Meeting on Saturday 5th October. An important event with the election of Management Committee members including President, Secretary and City Vice-President, get first-hand information on what the Guild has been up to over the last 12 months - events, membership and financial. Our Guest Speaker at 11am is Susie Vickery, well-known local Textile Artist and Costumier. Susie works internationally and has a fascinating background. Earlier this year with the help of the Embroiderers’ Guild Management and other donors, several displays from Susie Vickery’s Citizen Botanist were purchased and are now a part of the Historic and Contemporary Collection. On display for the first time to members, the story follows the journey of Jacques-Julien Hutou de Labillardiere, a time travelling naturalist as he returns to Australia 227 years after first landing there. The Collection now contains some of his formal clothing and some with an Australian flair.
