New group - Stitchers with a Difference now underway and has spaces available for aspiring creators!

Dive into the world of innovative stitch and textile art techniques with our dynamic new group where you will be guided in creative stitch techniques to craft your own original and innovative textile artworks.

Experienced Embroiderers’ Guild members will help you with simple methods to colour background fabrics, creative hand and machine stitching, constructing 3D art objects and techniques for keeping an artist’s sketchbook.

Your efforts will result in lots of new skills to further your contemporary stitch journey. And you will have completed three coordinating textile sculptures.

Cost: $90 (Guild members) for nine fortnightly meetings. This covers the cost of the venue and some materials.

Dates: First meeting Thursday August 15^th, 9.30am to 3.00pm, then fortnightly until Thursday December 5^th

Venue: Embroiderers Guild of WA, 565 Canning Highway, Alfred Cove

Experience: Some experience in basic hand embroidery would be helpful but not essential

You need to be a member of the Guild to participate. If you are not already a member you can join on-line by going to the Guild’s website www.embroiderersguildwa.org.au and clicking on the Membership tab.

At the end of the nine meetings it is hoped that the group will elect to continue meeting in 2025 and develop new goals and a new programme to keep you moving forward.
