Elizabethan Floral Scrolls OR Tudor Purse
Maree is offering a choice of three Elizabethan embroidered projects in this workshop.
Option 1 - "Elizabethan Floral Scrolls" - Experienced embroiderer. This is a typical Elizabethan design featuring coiling stems of gold, enclosing flowers, insects and small creatures stitched in Gumnut Yarn “stars” silks on a linen background. The piece for this class is a stand alone piece and can be framed or mounted on the lid of a box.
Option 2- " Floral Scrolls DMC Coton a Broder 25" - Some embroidery experience required. This is a typical Elizabethan design featuring coiling stems of gold, enclosing flowers, insects and small creatures stitched on a linen background. This project uses a heavier thread to teach students traditional techniques used in the Elizabethan period. Students will have the choice of stitching the gold scrolls in Ladder, Ceylon or plaited braid stitch. The piece for this class is a stand alone piece and can be framed or mounted on the lid of a box or bowl.
Option 3 - Tudor Rose purse - Beginner. This piece features a single Tudor Rose stitched in DMC Coton a Broder 25 & is a perfect piece for students wishing to experience needlelace techniques in a heavier thread.
